Ukrainian president: Moscow not eager to negotiate with Kyiv to achieve peace

The exact number of countries ready to deploy troops to Ukraine within the framework of security guarantees is not yet known, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told journalists on Wednesday, Report informs via Interfax-Ukraine.

"We don't know the number of countries ready for 'boots on the ground'. We know that there are 30 countries in the 'Coalition of the Willing' considering providing security guarantees," Zelenskyy said.

He emphasized that some countries could help by providing air defense, conducting air patrols, or offering financial assistance.

At the same time, the president noted that the main military contingent will consist of Ukrainians.

"The Ukrainian army needs weapons and salaries. If there are as many countries as I mentioned, then Ukraine can be provided with financial support and weapons," Zelenskyy explained.

He added that the US coordination group for preparing a meeting with the Russian side will include Secretary of State Marco Rubio, US President’s Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, and Vice President JD Vance.

The Ukrainian President also commented on Russia's strikes on the country last night.

According to him, last night the Russian Armed Forces used 574 drones and 40 missiles in attacks on Ukraine, but most of them were successfully intercepted. As a result of the attack, 15 people were injured. The President emphasized that all this gives more reason to doubt Moscow's desire to achieve peace.
