Ukraine to get big loan from Japan

Ukraine will receive a loan of $246.5 million from Japan by the end of 2025, Report informs referring to the Ukrainian Ministry of Finance.
Ukraine signed a corresponding agreement with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Kyiv will receive money under the program Supporting Reconstruction through Smart Fiscal Governance (SURGE).
It is expected that by the end of the current year, $229.7 million will be attracted to the state budget of Ukraine, and the remaining part of the money - $16.8 million will be used to capitalize interest in order to reduce the cost of servicing Ukraine's credit commitments in the coming years.
The SURGE project has been implemented in Ukraine since 2024.
