Ukraine says strategic bridge in Crimea disabled

Ukrainian officials say the Chonhar bridge, which connects Ukraine's Kherson region with Russian-controlled Crimea, has been rendered inoperable following a series of drone strikes.

According to Report, Andriy Kovalenko, head of Ukraine's Center for Countering Disinformation, wrote on Telegram that the bridge had been "completely destroyed."

Separately, Ukraine's 1st Separate Assault Regiment said its forces carried out another strike on the bridge during the night of June 9 using FP-2 drones, further damaging the crossing and disrupting the logistics route between mainland Ukraine and Crimea.

The bridge was first reported damaged on June 7, when one section of the roadway was destroyed.

The Chonhar crossing is considered one of the shortest and most convenient routes between Crimea and mainland Ukraine. Ukrainian officials say Russian forces have used it to move equipment and ammunition from Crimea to southern front directions.
