The structure responsible for military recruitment and mobilization in Ukraine came under heavy criticism during today's session of the Verkhovna Rada, with lawmakers proposing that all employees of the agency be sent to the front and replaced with new personnel.
According to Report.az"s Eastern European bureau, MP Oleksii Honcharenko said that as long as employees of the agency remain unpunished for both violence during mobilization and widespread corruption, increasingly serious problems will arise.
"Every day we witness dozens of such cases. They use brutal violence against conscripts and drag them away. What will we achieve with such military mobilization? Dozens of complaints have been filed against employees of this agency, but not a single one is being considered. Why? Agency employees drive expensive cars. Where do they get such incomes? All this requires a serious response," Honcharenko added.
MP Dmytro Razumkov also called for all employees of the agency to be mobilized and sent to the front, where they would be replaced by new personnel.
"I and many of my colleagues demand that a legal assessment of the activities of the agency responsible for mobilization finally be carried out. Their behavior is inconsistent with either Ukraine"s image or the spirit of the war. Let"s send them to the front and let them demonstrate their courage and abilities there. If serious measures are not taken regarding the activities of this agency, the consequences will be impossible to rectify," Razumkov stressed.
