A cargo vessel was damaged after being struck by an unidentified projectile in the waters off Oman, according to Report.

"A merchant vessel was struck on its starboard side by an unidentified projectile, resulting in damage to the bridge," United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) in an official statement.

The British maritime authority specified that the incident occurred approximately 7.5 nautical miles southeast of Dahit, Oman.

The agency advised vessels operating in the area to exercise caution while transiting and to report any suspicious activity to the relevant authorities.
