The UK, Italy and Japan have agreed to jointly develop a new fighter, Report informs referring to TASS.
The project called the Global Combat Air Program should be ready by 2035.
The goal of the project is to create a fighter that will be an alternative to the developments of the US and the EU.
It is noted that interoperability with US and NATO equipment will be its central concept.
By 2024, it is planned to begin the design development phase, and before that, the partners have yet to agree on the distribution of costs for the implementation of the program.
