Turkiye wants the expansion of NATO, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said at a joint press conference with his Hungarian counterpart Peter Szijjarto, Report informs.
According to him, Turkiye is one of the countries that contributes the most to NATO solidarity:
"The purpose of establishing the alliance is to ensure the security of the member countries. Today, NATO has two main threats: Russia and terrorism. Unfortunately, terrorist organizations continue to operate in Sweden and Finland. If our concerns are satisfied, there will be no problem with the NATO membership of those states."
Cavusoglu reminded that Sweden and Finland do not fulfill the obligations under the Madrid agreement.
