Türkiye's Justice Minister Akın Gürlek said the country has entered a decisive stage in the fight against the terrorist threat.
According to Report, the minister made the remarks during an address as part of his visit to Iğdır province.
He noted that little remains to be done to resolve the issue of terrorism, which has been one of the main threats to the country's development, stability and public welfare for more than 40 years.
"Thanks to the resolute stance of our people, this period will be left behind, and a new chapter will open for our country," Gürlek said.
According to him, the process of building a "Türkiye without terrorism," with the support of political institutions, has approached its final stage. The goal is for the country to subsequently focus on economic development, regional stability and improving public welfare.
In his address, the minister also touched on the fight against organized crime. He noted that modern criminal networks use digital platforms, cryptocurrencies and the international financial system. According to him, the state intends to crack down on criminal groups by leveraging technological capabilities.
Gürlek added that the fight against drug trafficking, illegal gambling, money laundering and other forms of organized crime is continuing unabated.
