Trump to unveil Bitcoin reserve strategy at White House Crypto Summit

President Donald Trump is expected to announce a significant shift in cryptocurrency policy this week, including plans for a Bitcoin strategic reserve, according to Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, Report informs via The Pavlovic Today.

Speaking to Ksenija Pavlovic McAteer of The Pavlovic Today ahead of the first-ever White House crypto summit on March 7, Lutnik said Trump—who has increasingly aligned himself with the digital asset industry—will outline his vision for Bitcoin and broader cryptocurrency regulation.

“The President definitely thinks that there’s a Bitcoin strategic reserve,” Secretary Lutnick told The Pavlovic Today. “Now there will be the question of, how do we handle the other cryptocurrencies? And I think the model is going to be announced on Friday when we do that.”

Trump, who has positioned himself as a staunch advocate for the crypto industry, reinforced his stance in a recent Truth Social post, stating:

“A US Crypto Reserve will elevate this critical industry after years of corrupt attacks by the Biden Administration, which is why my Executive Order on Digital Assets directed the Presidential Working Group to move forward on a Crypto Strategic Reserve that includes XRP, SOL, and ADA. I will make sure the U.S. is the Crypto Capital of the World. We are MAKING AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Lutnick suggested Bitcoin would receive unique status under Trump’s plans.

“A Bitcoin strategic reserve is something the President’s interested in. He spoke about it all during the campaign trail, and I think you’re going to see it executed on Friday,” Lutnick said.

“So Bitcoin is one thing, and then the other currencies, the other crypto tokens, I think, will be treated differently—positively, but differently,” he added.
