US President Donald Trump said he would have skipped the NATO summit if it hadn't been held in Türkiye, Report informs.
Trump made the statement during a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the sidelines of the NATO Summit in Ankara.
Noting that he was very disappointed in NATO, Trump added that, frankly speaking, if the summit hadn't been held in Türkiye, where his friend Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is a very strong leader, a very strong man, it's quite possible Trump wouldn't have attended the event.
The US president added that Washington receives more support from Ankara than from a number of other NATO partners.
Türkiye helps the US more than other countries considered America's traditional allies, the American leader added.
