Trump says Chinese automakers could open plants in US

US President Donald Trump has said he would not oppose Chinese automakers opening car manufacturing plants in the United States, as such facilities would create jobs for Americans.

"If China wanted to come here and open a plant to manufacture its cars, I wouldn't be against it," Fox News quoted him as saying, according to Report. Trump cited Japan, which already uses such a model, as an example, and emphasized the key condition: "The main thing is that they hire our people."

At the same time, Trump stressed that he would not allow another scenario - cheap cars being manufactured in Mexico and then shipped across the border into the United States. He said this would not happen.
