Trump denies US involvement in strike on Indian tanker in Strait of Hormuz, blames Iran

US President Donald Trump has rejected information of an alleged US strike on an Indian tanker in the Strait of Hormuz and placed responsibility for the incident on Iran, according to Report.

"With them (Iran-ed.) there is no such thing as dealing in good faith. AMAZING! Also, their totally rebuffed Drone attack last night against Indian Ships leaving the Hormuz Strait is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. They better get their act together, and FAST!" he said in a post on Truth Social.

On June 11, the Indian tanker MT Jalveer, sailing under the flag of Guinea-Bissau, came under attack off the coast of Oman. All 22 Indian sailors on board were safely evacuated after a missile strike reportedly carried out by US forces, according to foreign media.

Following the incident, India summoned the US chargé d'affaires Jason Mix.

Earlier, on June 10, India for the first time under the administration of President Donald Trump summoned a US diplomat after an attack on the merchant vessel Settebello off the coast of Oman. On board were 24 Indian sailors. As a result of the incident, 21 people were rescued and three died.
