The White House is reportedly weighing the possibility of completely halting military aid to Ukraine following a tense Oval Office meeting between US President Donald Trump and his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelenskyy/
According to Report, which cites The Washington Post, Trump is considering suspending all ongoing military assistance, a decision that could impact billions of dollars allocated for radars, transport vehicles, ammunition, and missiles. An anonymous senior US official stated that the move is tied to Zelenskyy’s remarks during the meeting and his stance in peace negotiations.
"The potential suspension of aid underscores a sharp deterioration in US-Ukraine relations," the official noted, adding that the discussion with Zelenskyy and Vice President JD Vance turned into a heated exchange.
During the meeting, Trump accused Zelensky of "gambling with World War Three" and expressed frustration over Ukraine’s handling of peace talks. Vice President Vance also questioned whether Kyiv had ever expressed gratitude for the extensive US support, further escalating the discussion.
The fallout from the meeting had immediate consequences. A major economic deal between the US and Ukraine regarding mineral resources was left unsigned. Trump later took to his Truth Social account, stating that Zelenskyy "is not ready for peace," after which the Ukrainian leader left the White House.
