Sybiha: 47 states, EU condemn Russia's attack on nuclear facility

Forty-seven states and the European Union have condemned Russia"s attack on Ukraine's Centralized Spent Fuel Storage Facility near the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant at a meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency Board of Governors, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said on X, Report informs.
Sybiha said the condemnation showed that Russia continued to undermine nuclear safety and security through its war against Ukraine.
"I thank our partners for their unwavering support. Now it is time to take action to stop Russia's nuclear blackmail," he said.
The foreign minister called for increased pressure on Russia to stop strikes against Ukrainian civilians and nuclear infrastructure.
He also urged Moscow to return the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant to Ukraine, which he described as its rightful owner.
