Some details of Iran-US deal emerged

The memorandum of understanding being developed by the US and Iran does not include specific decisions regarding Tehran's nuclear program, Report informs referring to The Guardian, citing an unnamed diplomatic source.

The document describes the mechanisms necessary to continue the negotiating process on nuclear issues, as well as on the issue of frozen Iranian assets, according to the newspaper. It does not contain any specific agreements, the newspaper noted.

The source also clarified that the memorandum will presumably set a timeline for demining the Strait of Hormuz. However, the US intends to maintain a naval blockade of Iran until the demining process is completed.

The key parameters of the memorandum were agreed upon by the parties several weeks ago. However, the source emphasized that there are no guarantees of a successful conclusion to the negotiations. The diplomat estimated the likelihood of a positive outcome at 50%.

There are a significant number of potential obstacles, the source added.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump stated that Washington and Tehran had agreed to a deal, but Iran denied these statements.
