Slovakia allocates 194M euros to purchase air defense systems

The Slovak government has approved the allocation of $193.98 million from the state budget for the purchase of air defense systems to protect the national airspace, Report informs via TASS.
The Republic's Ministry of Defense intends to purchase a mobile medium-range air defense system from Israel. Bratislava also plans to purchase short-range portable anti-aircraft missile systems from Poland.
Slovakia previously donated the S-300 air defense system to Ukraine. Then, American-made Patriot air defense systems were temporarily deployed in the republic by its NATO allies. Currently, its airspace is protected by the Czech, Polish and Hungarian Air Forces.
