Some circles in Montenegro are engaged in hybrid activities against Serbia's political life, the Serbian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Report's Balkan bureau informs that officials in Serbia and Montenegro have exchanged statements over claims of a "hybrid war" for the past two days.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic told Prva TV on Sunday that relations between Serbia and Montenegro had worsened during what he called a "color revolution."
"Montenegrin media played an important role in carrying out the 'color revolution' in Serbia, and this media is waging a continuous hybrid war in Serbia. We have not interfered in their affairs. They have no right to determine how we conduct our policy; their duty is to comply with international law," Vucic said.
Montenegro's Foreign Ministry later rejected the Serbian side's claims of a "hybrid war" and reaffirmed its commitment to good relations with official Belgrade.
"At a time when Montenegro is moving closer to its strategic goal of European Union membership and when our country is entering election periods, the number of such statements coming from a neighboring country is increasing. This shows that some political structures do not want to accept that they are surrounded by sovereign, internationally recognized and equal states," the Montenegrin ministry said.
In its statement today, Serbia"s Foreign Ministry said it had "taken note" of the Montenegrin ministry's statement and described it as confirmation of "hybrid activities by some circles in Montenegro against Serbia's political life."
