US Senator Chris Coons, a Democrat, said the recent firing of several generals at the Pentagon amid the war with Iran is cause for concern, according to Report.
"This purge of senior military leaders should alarm every American," the senator said in a post on X.
He said with no clear path to ending the war in Iran, experience, and trusted leadership matter more than ever.
He also criticized President Donald Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, saying they are dismissing high-ranking officers "for seemingly no valid reason."
