Scholz announces continuation of sanctions pressure on Russia

The West will continue to impose sanctions on Russia because of its actions in Ukraine, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said in a government statement in the Bundestag on October 20, Report informs referring to TASS.
“We do not leave the recent escalation on the part of Moscow unanswered. With the next package of sanctions from the EU, we have once again increased the pressure on the Russian government,” he said. “This course will continue as long as Russia continues to fight in Ukraine.”
The EU is discussing the ninth package of sanctions against Russia.
