Global shipments of humanoid robots rose more than 3.7-fold in the first half of 2026, reaching 19,100 units compared with 5,100 units in January-June last year, according to the US research firm Smart Analytics Global (SAG), cited by Report.
Chinese manufacturers dominated the market, accounting for more than 97% of total shipments, according to SAG estimates.
Shanghai-based Agibot delivered the largest number of humanoid robots in the first six months of this year, with 8,400 units. Hangzhou-based Unitree Robotics ranked second with 5,900 units, while Beijing-based Galbot came third with 900 units.
More than 70% of the robots were purchased for manufacturing and commercial applications, compared with about 50% a year earlier.
"Manufacturing, logistics, warehousing and other structured operations are becoming the main pathway to commercialization. In such environments, robots can perform clearly defined tasks and demonstrate measurable performance and economic value," SAG said.
It noted the emergence of demand for humanoid robots designed to interact with people and provide emotional support, adding that the commercial potential of this segment remains unclear.
China also accounted for the highest demand for humanoid robots, at more than 85%. This was largely driven by government support for the industry, including funding for its development.
SAG expects global humanoid robot shipments to reach around 60,000 units in 2026, nearly three times the figure recorded a year earlier. The firm forecasts shipments will reach 500,000 units by 2030.
