Russian drone hits spent nuclear fuel facility, Zelenskyy says

Russian forces have again struck the special zone around the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant.

Report informs that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote about this on his Telegram channel.

A Shahed drone struck one of the buildings of the centralized spent nuclear fuel storage facility, an important infrastructure site. "This is an extremely critical infrastructure facility. Ukraine's Foreign Ministry, Energy Ministry and all our services are already working to inform our partners about the situation. Russia deliberately struck this nuclear infrastructure facility," he said.

According to the Ukrainian leader, radiation levels currently do not exceed normal levels, and rescuers managed to extinguish the fire that broke out after the strike.

"Last night, the Russian Armed Forces also struck other civilian targets in 13 of our regions. In total, over the week, Russia launched 88 missiles, more than 3,250 attack drones and about 1,800 guided aerial bombs against Ukraine. We must increase pressure on Russia," Zelenskyy concluded.
