Artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming a key tool in the new stage of urban development - digital civilization, stated Ringo Lee, Head of Analytics and Standards at Earthasia INSIGHT and member of the Association of Landscape Consultants, at an event within the framework of WUF13 in Baku, Report informs.
He noted that cities are entering a digital era, where more than half of the world's population lives in urbanized areas, and cities themselves generate over 18% of global GDP and a significant share of carbon emissions.
"Under these conditions, artificial intelligence is becoming an important tool for analyzing and managing complex urban systems," he said.
Lee emphasized that urban development requires a transition to integrated digital platforms that combine data, services, and governance. According to him, such systems make it possible to create more flexible and personalized urban services, as well as improve interaction between various city agencies and structures.
"Digital technologies also help overcome the so-called 'digital literacy gaps' and strengthen the interaction between physical and digital environments through the creation of digital twins of cities," he added.
