Reps of Japan, India mull co-op in cyberspace

Representatives of Japan and India, during negotiations held in Tokyo, discussed the issue of interaction between the two countries in the field of cyberspace and related technologies, reads a statement by the Japanese Foreign Ministry, Report informs referring to TASS.

It is noted that the parties raised the issue of legislative regulation of this area, exchanged views on the topic of ensuring cybersecurity, and also discussed advanced developments, including 5G technology and the Open RAN system. In addition, the meeting participants reviewed the interaction of the two countries within the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (includes Australia, India, the US and Japan).

In September 2022, the heads of the Foreign and Defense Ministries of Japan and India, at a meeting in Tokyo in the “two plus two” format, also discussed issues of cyber threats and the deployment of the 5G network.
