Record 230 migrants cross English Channel in one boat

A record number of illegal migrants crossed the English Channel to the UK in a single boat, Report informs, citing Sky News.

According to the TV channel, 230 people arrived in the UK in one boat after crossing the English Channel, setting a new record.

The previous record was registered last month, when 165 people crossed the Channel in one vessel.

Sky News said 15,049 people had arrived in the UK in 224 small boats since the beginning of 2026.

At the same time, as of August 9, the number of arrivals by small boats was 42% lower than in the same period of 2025.
