Qatar has managed to send a liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanker through the Strait of Hormuz for the first time since the start of the Iran war, which could signal a gradual resumption of supplies from the region.
Report informs, citing Bloomberg, that according to vessel-tracking data, Qatar's Al Kharaitiyat LNG tanker has already left the Strait of Hormuz and is heading toward Pakistan. It is currently in the Gulf of Oman.
The tanker is believed to have passed along a northern route near the Iranian coast agreed with Tehran.
According to the Equasis database, the Al Kharaitiyat tanker is owned by Qatar's Nakilat gas transport company.
