Qatar PM to visit China for talks on strategic ties, regional issues

Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani will begin a two-day visit to China on September 7, Report informs, citing QNA and a statement by Qatar's Foreign Ministry.

During the visit, the prime minister will hold a series of meetings with senior Chinese officials to discuss ways to strengthen and develop strategic relations between the two countries in various fields, as well as expand economic and investment cooperation in their mutual interests.

The talks will also cover major regional developments and diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions and strengthening security and stability in the region.

The sides are also expected to emphasize the need to ensure the security and freedom of international navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
