Putin, Trump mull potential Russia-US-China summit at APEC, Peskov says

Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump discussed the possibility of holding a trilateral Russia–US–China summit on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit during a phone call on September 8, Russian Presidential Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told journalists, Report informs.

According to him, holding such a trilateral meeting is potentially possible.

Commenting on the situation surrounding the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Peskov stated that there is currently no agreed settlement program or clear "roadmap."

He was commenting on a previous statement by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio regarding progress toward forming such a roadmap.

"We would not like to and will not discuss any 'points' in a public format. Especially since there are currently no, shall we say, formulated, structured programs or roadmaps at present," Peskov stated.

The APEC summit is scheduled to take place on November 18–19, 2026, in Shenzhen, China.
