Russia isn’t capturing the European gas market, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a traditional grand press conference in Moscow, Report informs.
“Russia is fulfilling all its commitments on gas supplies. The country has even increased supplies by 12%,” the Russian president said.
He noted that Russia was trying to convince Europe of the danger of destroying the system of long-term contracts for gas supplies.
Putin expressed Russia's readiness to help Europe address the issue of gas prices, but these problems are created by Europe itself.
"The problems they created for themselves must be resolved by them. And we are ready to assist and we are doing it," Putin said.
