Protests at more than 300 schools in France, 40 detained

Protests or disturbances involving students are taking place in 316 schools across France, Report informs, citing French media referencing data from the country's Ministry of Education.

By noon, 40 secondary schools remained fully blocked, while attempts were made to block an additional 44 schools. Demonstrations carried out in secondary schools nationwide led to 40 arrests, with at least 10 people injured, including both students and school staff.

According to the National Union of Secondary School Teachers, 38% of middle and high school staff across France are participating in the strike. The strike action includes teachers, school counselors, psychologists, teaching assistants for children with special needs, and other education professionals.
