Prosecutors raid office linked to Hungary's Fidesz party

Investigators from the Hungarian prosecutor's office carried out a raid at an office linked to the opposition Fidesz party of former Prime Minister Viktor Orban, Report informs via Telex.

Bertalan Havasi, the party's communications director, said on social media that law enforcement officers arrived without prior notice at a facility responsible for securing the party's servers.

They came to the center that ensures the security of Fidesz's servers with the intention of seizing the party's entire communications system and databases, Havasi said.

According to Telex, the investigation concerns the alleged misuse of funds from Hungary's National Cultural Fund.

However, Hungary's Central Investigative Prosecutor's Office told Telex that the procedural actions were not being carried out either by the central office itself or by any of its subordinate regional investigative prosecutor's offices.
