President of Slovakia condemns incident at secondary school

A school attack in Staškov, Slovakia, is a serious warning for the whole of society, and everyone should take responsibility for the atmosphere created in the community, Slovak President Peter Pellegrini stated in a social media address, Report informs, citing Slovak media.

Pellegrini expressed his deep regret over the tragic incident at the Staškov primary school and extended his sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased teacher.

During the attack, a 13-year-old student targeted classmates and teachers, resulting in the death of a 61-year-old female educator. One child remains in critical condition, while a 44-year-old woman was hospitalized with a stab wound to the chest. Emergency and law enforcement agencies responded to the scene, and police are currently investigating the 13-year-old suspect for premeditated murder, with the case transferred to the Organized Crime Bureau.
