Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski has proposed that the West intercept Russian drones and missiles in Ukrainian airspace, according to Tagesschau, Report informs.
The proposal came after Russian drones entered Polish airspace.
Sikorski said he personally believed the idea should be considered. He added that, technically, NATO and the EU could carry it out, but Poland could not act alone and would need to coordinate with its allies.
The minister also called for a joint effort to counter Russia's shadow fleet in the Baltic Sea. Germany or NATO could set up a maritime control zone in the North Sea to monitor the entry of these aging ships into the Baltic Sea.
He warned that if even one of these Russian ships, two of which had already sunk in the Sea of Azov, were to sink in the Baltic Sea, it could cause an environmental disaster of unprecedented scale.
