Police officer killed in attack in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

One police officer was killed and another injured in an armed attack on a police station in Lakki Marwat district of Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Report informs via Dawn.

The newspaper cited a police representative.

"Terrorists opened fire on patrol officers while they were patrolling the area," the statement said.

The dead and injured officers were taken to the city hospital. The injured officer is in serious condition.

A large police contingent has been deployed to the scene, the area has been cordoned off, and a search is underway for the attackers.
