France is facing the third wave of the coronavirus pandemic, Report informs, citing the French Prime Minister Jean Castex.
“France has entered a kind of the third wave,” a local TV quoted Castex.
According to the prime minister, this stage is “characterized by multiple strains” of the coronavirus.
Strict restrictive measures have been in force in France for several months to slow the coronavirus’s spread. Despite the measures, in recent weeks, the rate of COVID-19’s spread has caused alarm among experts.
The day before, it was reported that the intensive care units of Paris regional hospitals had 1,152 patients with coronavirus infection, which is higher than the anti-record seen during the second wave of the pandemic last fall.
