Pezeshkian calls for joint fight against new security threats at SCO summit

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian highlighted the importance of strengthening the institutional and expert capacity of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) to combat terrorism, extremism, and emerging security threats.
According to Report, citing ISNA, Pezeshkian made the remarks at the SCO summit in Bishkek.
He warned that approaches based on the use of force pose risks not only to the security of individual states but also to the stability of the region and the wider world.
Addressing the situation around Iran, Pezeshkian stated that Tehran is ready to take reciprocal steps if the United States returns to fulfilling its commitments under the agreement: "If the US resumes its obligations, Iran will immediately respond with corresponding measures."
