Pentagon: Around 100 US servicemen injured after resumed strikes on Iran

Nearly 100 American service members sustained varying degrees of injury during US military operations against Iran over the past two weeks, Chief Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell said in a post on X, Report informs.

"While nearly 100 service members were deemed to have some degree of injury since July 7, 2026, 96% have returned duty. They are determined to get back in the fight.

The vast majority of injuries experienced were minor concussions. Further updates will be posted on the Defense Casualty Analysis System," reads the post.

Earlier, US Central Command (CENTCOM) had reported that on July 17, during the interception of Iranian missile and drone attacks in Jordan, two American soldiers were killed and one went missing.

The US and Israel launched operations against Iran on February 28. In June, Washington and Tehran signed a mutual understanding memorandum calling for an immediate halt to hostilities across all fronts, including Lebanon. However, on the night of July 8, the US accused Iran of violating the agreement's terms regarding the Strait of Hormuz and resumed large-scale strikes.
