Pakistan PM says UK supports diplomatic efforts on Iran–US ceasefire

Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said he received a phone call from British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and discussed diplomatic efforts related to Iran and the United States, Report informs.
Sharif said in a post on X that he appreciated Starmer's support for Pakistan's diplomatic efforts that helped facilitate an Iran–US ceasefire and advance dialogue.
He also welcomed a joint statement by key European and international leaders, including Starmer, endorsing Pakistan's peace initiatives.
The two leaders agreed on the importance of sustaining the ceasefire to create conditions for lasting peace and stability in the region.
Sharif added that they also discussed ways to further strengthen Pakistan–UK relations across areas of mutual interest, and said he looked forward to welcoming Starmer to Pakistan.
