French police have detained 675 participants in the "Block Everything" protest movement.
According to Report, citing BFMTV, 280 of those arrested were in the Paris region.
The French Interior Ministry reported that 549 of the detainees were taken into custody.
The protests on September 10 were organized by the "Block Everything" movement against government reforms and economic policies. Demonstrators blocked roads and transport hubs and held rallies in major cities, including Paris, Nantes, Rennes, Lyon, and Montpellier. Clashes with police occurred throughout the day, with authorities using tear gas to disperse protesters.
The demonstrations come amid a political crisis: Parliament expressed a vote of no confidence in Prime Minister François Bayrou, and President Emmanuel Macron appointed Sébastien Lecornu as the new head of government-the fifth in the past two years.
