Number of active COVID cases on rise in India for 28 consecutive days

India saw another record jump in coronavirus incidence over the past day when the country recorded 115,736 new cases, Report informs referring to the Indian Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Thus, the total number of infected has reached 12,801,785.
The previous highest incidence was set on April 5 and amounted to 103,558 cases of infection.
The number of coronavirus-related deaths has increased in India since early Tuesday by 630 and reached 166,177. The number of active cases in the country exceeded 800,000 for the first time this year and amounted to 843,473 people, which is 55,250 more than a day earlier. The number of active cases has been increasing for 28 consecutive days.
Meanwhile, over the past day, the number of recovered patients increased by 59,856 and reached 11,682,136.
Health Minister Harsh Vardhan warned that the next four weeks will be "critical" for confronting the infection, and urged citizens to strictly implement preventive measures such as wearing protective masks and maintaining social distance.
