Norway confirms seizure of Russian vessel

Norway has confirmed the detention of the Russian vessel Professor Molchanov.

According to Report, citing a statement from the Governor of Svalbard, the ship was seized while docked at Barentsburg port following an order from the Nord-Troms District Court.

The decision was made in connection with a claim filed by Ukraine's Naftogaz company.

The vessel has been prohibited from leaving its berth until a ruling is issued by the relevant authorities or the district court.

The statement also noted that the Governor will take care of the crew and passengers on board the vessel in collaboration with Trust Arcticugol.
