Netanyahu says he disagrees with Trump on Gaza roadmap

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said he has disagreements with US President Donald Trump over the Board of Peace's roadmap aimed at stabilizing the situation in the Gaza Strip, Report informs via Al Jazeera.

Netanyahu said the differences concern the latest proposed agreement with Hamas.

"I have disagreements with President Trump regarding the latest agreement with Hamas. Before moving to the reconstruction phase, Hamas must be disarmed and the Gaza Strip must be demilitarized," Netanyahu said.

The Israeli leader made the remarks after meeting with Board of Peace chief representative Nickolay Mladenov.

Earlier, the Peace Council said on its official social media page that following the meeting, the sides agreed that the Israel Defense Forces would withdraw from the Gaza Strip only after Hamas is disarmed.
