Montenegro announces half-million-euro reward for assistance in capturing drug gang leader

Montenegro's Ministry of Interior issued a public promise of a 500,000 euro cash reward for information containing accurate data relevant to locating, finding and arresting Radoje Zvicer (42), a Montenegrin national wanted under a red international notice issued by Interpol, Report informs referring to Srpske Novine.

The sum is the highest that Montenegrin police have publicly offered for a single person in recent years, and the decision carries weight for the Serbian public as well: according to the Interior Ministry, Zvicer is linked to the top of the so called Kavac clan, a network that regional prosecutors and police forces, including Serbian law enforcement, have tracked for years as part of a wider organized crime conflict that has not stayed confined to Montenegrin territory.

The statement from Montenegro's Interior Ministry says the reward was announced under Article 92 of the Law on Internal Affairs, in connection with Articles 236 and 238 of the Law on Obligations, on a proposal from the director of the Police Administration.

"The Ministry of Interior hereby makes a public promise of a cash reward in the amount of 500,000 euros for reports and information containing accurate data relevant to directly locating, finding and depriving of liberty Radoje Zvicer, a citizen of Montenegro, wanted under a red international notice issued through Interpol," the statement said.

Zvicer is wanted internationally on reasonable suspicion of committing a series of the most serious criminal offenses: forming a criminal organization, aggravated murder, murder, aggravated murder through incitement, attempted murder through incitement, unauthorized production, possession and trafficking of narcotics, illegal possession of weapons and explosive materials, and money laundering. These are the same offenses for which the notice was issued, the Police Administration says.
