MFA: Russia, US considering possibility of restoring direct flights

During Russian-US consultations this week in Istanbul, the US proposed considering the possibility of restoring direct air traffic with the Russian Federation, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry, Report informs via Russian media.

According to the information, the parties agreed on joint steps to ensure unimpeded financing of the activities of the diplomatic missions of Russia and the United States, and also touched upon issues related to the Russian diplomatic property seized in the United States.

"The negotiations between the Russian Federation and the United States in Istanbul were held in a substantive and businesslike manner. The Russian Federation and the United States will continue the dialogue through the channel between the director of the department of the MFA Darchiev and Deputy Secretary of State Coulter," the Russian Foreign Ministry notes.
