Mexico sees record increase in COVID incidence

Over the past day, Mexico registered 47,113 cases of coronavirus infection, its highest number since the pandemic onset, Report informs, citing the Mexican Health Ministry.
At the same time, as many as 227 people died of COVID-19, bringing the country’s coronavirus death toll to 301,334.
To date, 75.37 million people in Mexico have been immunized with at least two shots of a COVID vaccine.
In December 2021, authorities began the revaccination of people aged 60 and older.
They were immunized with AstraZeneca during the booster vaccination.
Mexico has a population of about 127 million.
