Media: Trump does not plan to raise territorial issue at Alaska meeting with Putin

US President Donald Trump does not intend to raise the topic of territorial issues in the context of the war in Ukraine during his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska on August 15, Report informs via NBC.

“Trump told European leaders during a Wednesday call that he does not plan to discuss territorial divisions with Putin in Alaska this week,” a source told NBC.

The source added that Trump and European leaders agreed that a ceasefire in Ukraine should be achieved before the start of peace negotiations.

Two other sources familiar with the phone call said that European leaders are positive about Trump’s plans for the meeting with Putin.

One of them stated that achieving a ceasefire will be Trump’s priority at the meeting. Another expressed confidence that Ukrainian territory will not be discussed without Ukraine’s participation.
