A magnitude 5.9 earthquake struck off the coast of Mexico, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC).
The earthquake was recorded about 113 kilometers (70 miles) southwest of Ciudad Hidalgo in the southern state of Chiapas.
The quake's epicenter was located at a depth of 35 kilometers (22 miles).
There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage. Authorities continue to monitor the situation.
