The Saeima of Latvia adopted in the final reading the amendments to the energy law, which provide for a ban on gas supplies from Russia from January 1, 2023.
Report informs citing Interfax that the rules have also been adopted for specific cases of agreeing with the regulatory authorities of other EU states on ways to ensure a ban on Russian gas supplies.
These rules will apply in cases where the Latvian operator of the natural gas transmission and storage system Conexus Baltic Grid negotiates with an operator of another state on the creation of a unified gas transmission system.
