Latvia to send short-range air defense systems to Ukraine

Latvia will participate in the "air defense coalition" on Ukraine, Defense Minister Andris Spruds told journalists, Report informs, citing the foreign press.
According to him, Latvia is an active participant in the "coalition of unmanned aerial vehicles" and "coalition of missiles" created to buy weapons for Kyiv: "There are countries with and without Patriot systems. If we are talking about air defense systems, then Latvia will also contribute by sending air defense equipment. We have short-range air defense systems."
He also said that in 2023, more than 4,000 Ukrainian soldiers were trained in Latvia, and similar training will continue in 2024.
