Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan will develop a concrete plan to increase cargo transportation through the ports of Aktau and Kuryk, Report informs, citing the Kazakh government's press service

The instruction was given by the prime ministers of the two countries, Olzhas Bektenov and Abdulla Aripov.

The two prime ministers visited the Aktau International Sea Trade Port, where they reviewed its infrastructure and operational capacity.

The combined annual cargo handling capacity of the Aktau and Kuryk ports is about 22 million tons. Between 2022 and 2025, container transit through Kazakhstan's ports along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor) increased 3.8-fold.

Last year, the volume of Uzbek cargo handled through the Aktau and Kuryk ports increased by more than 60%.
