Kazakhstan, Afghanistan sign $235M worth of agreements

Following the Kazakhstan–Afghanistan Business Forum in Kabul, agreements, memorandums, and commercial contracts worth approximately $235 million were signed, Report informs, citing Kazakhstan's Ministry of Trade and Integration.
The country's trade and economic mission was held on June 21–22, 2026.
The event brought together more than 50 Kazakh companies and over 300 representatives of Afghanistan's business community. Within the mission, B2B negotiations were conducted, along with an exhibition of Kazakh goods and services.
Kazakh companies showcased products from the agro-industrial complex, food, textile, chemical, and pharmaceutical sectors.
One of the key outcomes was the signing of a ten-year memorandum between Afghanistan's Nesar Elyas Trading LTD and Kazakhstan's Turkistan Oil Mill for the supply of sunflower oil. Additionally, Shabyt LLC signed a memorandum worth $15 million to supply groats under the Speranza trademark.
The Union of Grain Processors of Kazakhstan and Afghanistan's Chamber of Commerce and Investment also agreed to cooperate on the export and processing of wheat flour.
Separate agreements were signed in the fields of medicine and innovative technologies.
Furthermore, Kazakhstan's Samsar Holding and Afghanistan's Amo Tracks Trading and Logistics Company signed a memorandum of cooperation. The parties reached a preliminary agreement on a joint project to build a coal-fired thermal power plant, with an initial estimated cost of $20–30 million.
